Young students make great beginner cellists. Often with youth comes unbridled enthusiasm for learning a cool new instrument and a mental elasticity that helps them absorb new information like a sponge. These advantages can carry a student a long way. The excitement encourages them to practice more on their own and their ability to retain information helps them progress quickly in their studies.
One difficulty that young students face though, is the challenge of critically analyzing their playing. As a result, they need an outside observer to help them identify things that cause them trouble, whether it is posture, intonation, tone quality, etc. Young beginners are also generally less coordinated than their adult counterparts and will remain that way until well after puberty. Adult beginners have their own set of advantages. They also have a strong ability to critically analyze their own actions, and better sense of how they want to sound.
As a result of their ability to critically analyze their own playing, adult learners can sometimes go straight to the criticizing part. However, the student is probably playing at a level appropriate to how long they have been studying. Practicing in between lessons is another necessity that makes learning the cello much easier. Without daily practice times, you will find your teacher going over the same concepts week after week during your lessons. If you only have five minutes, play some open strings for tone quality. Since many people come here asking similar questions, I thought I could offer some insights and solutions on Rocksmith Remastered henceforth RS. If you just want to zone out, jam, and feel like a rockstar, you don't need to read further. You shouldn't do only what this guide proposes, or you might burn out quickly.
It should be fun - or at least rewarding - after all! You might want to know where I come from musically, therefore: before picking up RS, I have played guitar and violin for ten years in various live bands. I haven't taught guitar regularly, but am working towards a teaching diploma in another field. This part is the heart of this guide, written for people who look past the game-y aspects and really want to use RS efficiently - and that means to learn songs as quickly and accurately as possible.

You need to realize that playing guitar ultimately involves muscle memory. Hence, from a certain speed onward, not learning and practicing the full thing is not equal to learning something easier, but equal to learning something different. Setting the speed to an easy level gives your body a chance to learn the movements in a manageable, and most importantly, relaxed way.
Any tension blocks movement and is detrimental for playing. This helps you to determine what suits your current skill level. You want to be at the border of your comfort zone, but not too much beyond that. Very important. This is hard and takes discipline, but necessary for your brain and body to cope well. There's no shame in going slow! This is where you really practice. And it is super important to be self-critical here.

Bonus tip wish RS allowed this : eventually, go faster than the original song.
This way, playing the original tempo will feel easy. And you want to be able to perform easily. To improve your tone, there is a well-known method: run your guitar through a normal amp, dial a loud, clear tone, and practice that way with a metronome. When I say clear, I mean no effects, no distortion whatsoever. That ensures that you will hear any sound that shouldn't sound, especially strings that aren't supposed to vibrate.
Alternatively, you could run your signal through a splitter, with one end going into RS, the other into a normal amp and having the best of both worlds. A book: The Inner Game of Music. I do have two issues with them: the mini-games have too many distracting elements and are not customizable as e. When practicing technique, you should constantly pay close attention to what you're doing and have tasks tailored to your needs. My comments are in brackets.
